Söll is a municipality in the Kufstein district and is located 9 km south of Kufstein as well as 9 km east of Wörgl. The village has 25 parts. Main sources of income are agriculture and tourism. It has 3571 inhabitants. Söll is one of the principal ski holiday villages of the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser. It is located beneath the conical shaped Hohe Salve peak, the highest point in the linked ski area. The Hohe Slave also offers some of the most advanced skiing in the entire region with black and red classified ski runs as well as ski routes from the top lift station. The Hohe Salve has an attractive church located on its peak as well as a mountain restaurant that features a revolving terrace, offering panoramic views of the region. The Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski region also contains the ski holiday resorts of Itter, Scheffau, Ellmau, Going, Brixen and Hopfgarten. A new lift is scheduled to open for the 2008/09 ski season that will link Brixen to Westendorf and beyond to Kitzbühel, establishing one of the biggest linked ski regions in the world. After dark Söll offers one of the best apres ski scenes in Austria, with slope-side bars offering dancing and drinking until late. One of the downsides of Söll as a ski holiday destination is the dislocation between the village and the main lift access the ski area. Ski buses are often required to access the ski lifts from much of the accommodation.
